Sunday Break, a grade II winner by Forty Niner, will stand in 2009 at Haras de Grandcamp in France. The 10-year-old stallion formerly stood at John T.L. Jones III’s Walmac Farm near Lexington.
Sunday Break, who won the Peter Pan Stakes (gr. II), has sired stakes winners Never On Sunday and Break Up, plus three stakes-placed runners. Never On Sunday won two stakes in 2008 in France, including the Prix du Prince d’Orange (Fr-III). Break Up captured the 2008 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes.
A Japanese-bred sent to North America as a yearling, Sunday Break placed in the 2002 Belmont (gr. I) and Wood Memorial (gr. I) Stakes, plus the 2003 Arcadia Handicap (gr. IIT). He is out of the Storm Cat mare Catequil.
